Screening your teleportations.

Last night Bernadette and I were invited to witness a rehearsal by one of the greatest bands currently lurking on the outskirts of Washington DC. Set By Satellite are some of the coolest guys around and I was excited to get a rare glimpse into their creative process. They rocked a few of my old favorites and rehearsed some brand new material. Here’s the proof.

foot.

Yesterday Brenna's paw fur looked like an elf shoe and the sunset was extra rad.

1.15.2008

yep.

The clouds were rockin yesterday afternoon. I posed out for another self portrait and made more Brenna photos.

Toni's Brenna

Last night Toni drew the most amazing portrait of Brenna. It reminds of how rad it is to be a little kid and not have any self-conscious hang-ups about making art.

Cathartes Aura

There are a lot of vultures in our neighborhood. I photographed some that were feasting on deer scraps.

home again.

After hours of waiting around the airport I finally caught a flight back home. I love to travel but it's always nice to get back. The dogs were happy and we spent a bunch of time playing today.

Takeoffs and Landings

Here’s an outtake from my pose-out-portraits of yester-afternoon. I’m sitting in an airport in FL, next to a gentlemen that smells of mothballs and cheese. I’m making this face. My flight’s been delayed three hours and I’ve said it before, but seriously Florida will trap you. And my favorite thing about airports is going through the security check behind someone who doesn’t realize that metal detectors detects metal and they try to get through with eight weeks of laundry quarters, five cell phones-like-devices, and a pocket full of keys. That happened today. awesome.

pictures from yesterday evening

When I walked down to the beach yesterday I was stoked to see that the clouds were looking fantastic. I brought my faithful tripod and posed out for a self-portrait. The beach here is quite rocky and post-apocalyptic. If you want to know about taking really amazing photos, talk to this guy.

self portrait o' the day

Yesterday there was a rad sunset, I was stoked and made this self portrait. Also, if you want to view one of my favorite pictures that I've seen so far this year, click here, it's magical.

hooray for.....COFFEE!

The lack of recent posts is due partly to the fact that I am in FL for the week shooting photos and have been super busy. I can't seem to escape this place, it seems to have some strange way of pulling me back in, maybe it's some kind of sorcery. I'll try to post some more interesting stuff later.

More border collie photos!

There are a lot of rolling hills here in Purcellville which can make the afternoon light really cool. I've been trying to photograph the dogs every day this week. Here's the latest installment. Today was unseasonably warm.

(p)Update

Bren and Spirit don't herd sheep, but sometimes they herd each other. Here are two of my recent favorites. This is also one of my favorite pictures, and this one too.

Sometimes it's cold enough here that my camera actually freezes, that didn't happen today, although it was the coldest day since I've been here.

Today.

I drove a tractor and Bren helped Spirit, Berni, and I stack two cords of firewood. It was 27 degrees.
