I'm showing five new paintings this weekend, three from my jellyfish series and one sea horse that is quite possibly the cutest painting I have ever created, it was so cute that I had to offset it with this gnarly looking fish skeleton.   Here are more sneak previews and below is some info about the show.  See you there! 

Collab-O-Rama!

One of my best students ever just sent me this image.  

Before I left St. Petersburg I gave him a bunch of paintings to use for collaborations.  This is one of them.

Sea Creatures

Here is a photo of the piece I was working on in that candle light picture when the power went out, it's from a series about sea creatures I've met.

Out of the dark ages....

With electricity restored and following on the heals of the most successful show of my career I've begun work on an epic new series which will remain top secret for now although a few pieces may be unveiled at a show on the 21st.  More news and images soon.

storms

We spent the past two days with neither electricity nor running water due to an apocalyptic storm that came through our area.  When the power went out I was in the middle of an epic new painting and had to finish it by candle light. 
Lightning was striking like crazy and I tried to photograph it without being electrocuted. I also spent a few minutes working on some new songs I've been writing. 
Bearhead remained stoked for the duration, nothing can shake his cool.

Last night, at the opening....

At first there was confusion and laughter.
Setareh's family was there, representing.
Berni took some great sneak-o-graphs.
Lots of people asked me questions about my work and I tried my best to explain myself.
My red crocodile sneaks were also there representing. 
Bomdad makes epic pose-out faces. 

Afterwards we met up with everyone at a super fancy restaurant.  Heated art related discussions ensued. 

Until they brought out cute mini deserts. 
They were small, but yummy.  I had one with caramel, until Bernadette took it away from me and I had to eat the coffee flavored one, which was good too.
The candles were electric and amusing.

We rode to the top floor in a huge glass elevator and looked out over all of DC.

I photographed my sneaks on the red carpet. 

All the girls posed out in the lobby. 

It was a really fun/rad night, thanks to all my friends who showed up. 

The show will be at the gallery until the 15th, if you hurry there might still be a few pieces left for sale. 

Behrang+Soraya

The wedding I photographed last Saturday was super-fun and slightly death defying due to the fact that Bomdad tried to stab me with the cake knife. Here are a few photos.
